The Packages page in GrowFlow is a central part of inventory management and is essential for operating a dispensary. Packages represent the physical inventory that is being ingested into the GrowFlow Retail POS. The packages themselves will contain all relevant details needed for traceability. When a package is brought into GrowFlow it will be assigned to a Product Profile. Packages can be edited to change their association should there be a reason to reassign the package to a different Product Profile. Let's review the packages page and the options available.
Search Bar and Filters
The search bar is the best way to look up specific packages. The search type can be changed by clicking the dropdown menu to the right of the search field. When searching for packages, we recommend using the package ID. If you are in a Metrc or BioTrack state, using the tag number is also very effective.
In addition to the search options, we also provide quick filters that can help you focus on certain package groupings. The default option will always be set to 'Active and Held' but it can also be changed to filter for Active, On Hold, Finished, Inactive, and Transferred Out packages.
Moving to the right, the next quick filter allows the user to quickly pull up packages based on Stock Type: Has Stock, Out of Stock, Low Stock, and Negative Stock.
The Location quick filter allows the user to sort the packages page based on a specified storage location. If you have not set up a storage location in GrowFlow, this dropdown will not display any options.
The final quick filter allows users to filter packages based on whether they have a Metrc (or BioTrack) discrepancy. This helps when investigating discrepancies during inventory audits.
Refresh, Activity Logs, Download, Import Tool, and Sync
At the top of the Packages page, there are several buttons available to the user.
Refresh - when used, this button will refresh the data for the package page.
Activity Logs - Activity Logs show the actions that have been taken with a package such as adding or removing items from an order.
Download - Use this button to download a CSV file export of the packages page.
Import Tool - The import tool is a secondary option for pulling in packages. Please see the article for more information. Retail: Import Tool
Sync - The sync button is an import feature of the packages page. Use the sync button to sync your packages with your state traceability system. This needs to be done manually during the business day for the most accurate information to be displayed. We always recommend that a sync be performed before any adjustments and after any conversions.
Column Selector
Near the top right of the packages page, we have the Column Selector. This dropdown menu can be opened to reveal all the data that we can display on the packages page. You must have the columns you want enabled when exporting data as GrowFlow will only export what is displayed on the packages page. Adding more columns will add more data to the export.
Additional Filters
Click the funnel icon to reveal additional filtering options. Then use the dropdown menu options to tailor the filters to find exactly what is needed. Additional filters can be added to further reduce the results found in the search. Use the Clear All button to remove all added filters.
Package Details Panel
When a package is selected from the packages page, a details pane will open on the right. This is a quick view of the package details where you can easily learn about the package in question. We display many points of data in the detail pane including - package ID, Quantity, Transfer, and synced information from your state traceability operator.
If you're looking to find out which transfer a package was received on, you can click the Transfer link in the Package Details. Alternatively, if a package was created from a conversion, you will see a Converted From link to the origin package (i.e. the package it was converted from).
Within the Details pane, there is a kebab button (3 horizontal dots) that will provide the user with additional options.
Edit - Use the Edit option to open the package details and make changes to the package information
Move Inventory - If storage locations are being used, select Move Inventory to move packages between your virtual storage locations.
Print Package Label - Use this option to print a package label for the selected package.
Print Exit Label - Use this option to print an exit label for the selected package.
Adjust Package - Select Adjust Package to make a manual adjustment to the package quantity. Please see the Help Center article for more information.
Place on Hold - Allows the user to place a hold on the package so it cannot be sold.
Convert Package - Conversions are used to create new packages that can be assigned to a different product profile. It can also be used to split packages.
Package Activity - The Package Activity log is a great resource for investigating issues and discrepancies that might arise with a particular package.
Finishing and Reactivating Packages
When a package has reached zero quantity remaining it can be Finished in GrowFlow. The package can be finished individually from the package directly, or with the use of the Finish Tool. We recommend taking this step to maintain your inventory and keep empty packages separate from the active inventory.
If a package needs to be Reactivated (unfinished) first navigate to the packages page. From there change the search type to Finished and look up the package in question. Once it appears, click the Kebab button on the package details pane to open a dropdown menu. Select Reactivate package to add the package back to your active inventory.
