Retail: Creating Sample Products

Create or mark an item or product as a sample in GrowFlow Retail

Written by Jerome Quiambao

Why do we use the Is Sample option in GrowFlow Retail?

The Is Sample setting helps you track products that aren't meant for sale, like vendor samples or items for internal use. This keeps your inventory organized and your compliance reports accurate by keeping samples separate from products you sell.

To mark a product as a sample in GrowFlow Retail, turn on the Is Sample setting when you're creating or updating a product profile.

Creating a Sample product

To create a new sample product:

1. Go to Organization Settings.

2. Select Products.

3. Click the green + button to add a new product.

For more information on creating product profiles, see How to Create a Product Profile.

NOTE: The Is Sample toggle will appear after you enter a product name and select a Product Category that contains MJ. Make sure to click Save & Close when you’re done!

4. To edit an existing product, search and click on the product.

5. Click the kebab or three dots icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

6. Select Edit from the drop-down menu.

Now you can update the product profile and turn on the Is Sample toggle for products containing MJ if they are samples. Just don’t forget to click Save & Close when you’re done!

Once you’ve created a product with Is Sample turned on or updated an existing product to be a sample, you can now assign these products to an incoming transfer that includes sample items or products.

For more information about transfers, see Transfers.
