How to sync QA Parent IDs from Metrc for historical QA samples and lab transfers in GrowFlow Wholesale

As you may know, lab transfers must be performed directly in Metrc due to a known issue with their API. Since these transfers are built in Metrc and then synced into GrowFlow, there was historically a gap in some of the data GrowFlow received from Metrc. But that’s all changed!

Easily sync historical QA orders to pull in missing QA parent data from Metrc. Here's how:

Notes:

  • The Metrc sync button is primarily intended for use on lab orders to sync historical QA data. While there are no other confirmed use cases for this button, you may be able to use it if you’ve made changes to orders directly in Metrc without voiding the transfer. However, we always recommend working in GrowFlow to avoid discrepancies, unless otherwise directed to work in Metrc.

  • The steps below should not be necessary for any new lab transfers after 9/25/24, as our enhancements ensure that QA data will sync automatically into GrowFlow moving forward.

Metrc Sync on Sales History

1. Go to Orders > Sales History

2. Type "Lab" in the search bar to display historical lab transfers in the list

Notes:

  • Adjust the date filter as far back as needed to include all historical lab transfers.

  • Only orders in the Need to Transfer or In Transfer stages will display the Metrc sync button.

3. Click the button in the Metrc sync column for each lab transfer that appears in the search results

4. Go to Admin > QA Samples. You will now see the QA Parent IDs listed in the ParentId# column.

The QA Parent ID will also be displayed as the QA Parent Lot in the Inventory Details for any packages linked to the QA result, as well as in the QA result itself.

Additional Details

  • The QA Parent ID in GrowFlow refers to the Production Batch No. in Metrc.

    • This enables GrowFlow to correctly populate the Production Batch No. on GrowFlow-generated manifests and maintain accurate parent-to-child inventory relationships throughout your account.

  • Additionally, the dynamic field {{QAParentIds}} becomes available for inserting the Metrc Production Batch No. on labels, if needed.
