Now that you have your bulk inventory dried, tested, and ready to sell, it's time to start making packages from that inventory! In this article, we will look at what it looks like to convert bulk inventory into smaller bulk packages and also how to create pre-packaged products.
Packaging Bulk Flower into Bulk Packages
Navigate to your Inventory Overview page, then click Package
In the Package Inventory window:
1. Select Bulk Inventory
2. What are we making? Select the applicable traceability type
3. What kind? Select the applicable Product Template or strain-specific Product
Note: If you do not already have the specific product created in your account, click Create New Product Template below this field.
4. Which Strain? Select the applicable strain only if a Product Template was selected in step 3. If a strain-specific product was selected, the strain will be auto-populated.
When steps 1-4 are complete, the window will expand to complete the conversion:
5. Use the filters or search bar to easily find the Parent Package you are using
6. Enter the amount of the weight you are pulling from the Parent Package
7. Enter the total product produced for the new package
8. If any waste was produced during the re-packaging, enter the waste weight
Note: The entered waste weight will be sent to the Inventory Waste Log to await final disposal within your account and facility, and will not be created as a new package. See How to Enter Medical and Non-Medical Waste to learn more about the waste workflow.
9. Select the room the new package will live in
10. Click Preview Convert
11. Review the new package details and click Confirm
12. Finish by confirming the next Metrc tag to use
Pre-Packaging Bulk Inventory
Navigate to your Inventory Overview page, then click Package
In the Package Inventory window:
1. Select Pre-packaged Items
2. What are we making? Select the applicable traceability type
3. What kind? Select the applicable Product Template or strain-specific Product
Note: If you do not already have the specific product created in your account, click Create New Product Template below this field.
4. Which Strain? Select the applicable strain only if a Product Template was selected in step 3. If a strain-specific product was selected, the strain will be auto-populated.
5. How many units? Enter the number of pre-packaged units you are converting
When steps 1-5 are complete, the window will expand to complete the conversion:
5. Use the filters or search bar to easily find the Parent Package you are using
6. In the Amount to use field, Enter how many grams you are pulling from the bulk inventory
7. If QA re-testing is required, check this box and enter a new Production Batch Name. If no name is specified, GrowFlow will generate one for you. This will be the Batch Name to represent the batch for QA testing.
8. Select the room the pre-packaged inventory will live in
9. Click Preview Convert
10. Review the pre-packaged conversion details and click Confirm
11. Finish by confirming the next Metrc tag to use
