The Audit page is where your store counts its physical inventory and corrects any differences in GrowFlow. Scan to Count lets you tally those counts with a barcode scanner instead of typing them in by hand, so large audits go faster and every count lands on the exact package.
NOTE: Scanning never changes your inventory on its own. Counts are staged on the Audit page until you click Adjust X Packages and complete the adjustment. Leaving the page discards any staged counts.
Before You Start
Your packages must already be received into inventory under Inventory > Transfers.
Your package labels must carry the Package ID barcode.
Storage Locations are optional, but recommended. When you use them, the Audit page counts location by location.
NOTE: Scan to Count reads the Package ID only. Scanning a product UPC will not count the item. This is what keeps every count tied to the exact package or lot.
How to Count with a Scanner
1. Click on Inventory.
2. Select Audit.
3. Look for the Listening for scans indicator at the top of the page. When it is active, you can scan right away without clicking into a row first.
4. Scan a package barcode. The Scan to Count window opens on the matching package. You can also click the scan button next to Qty On Hand on any row to open it manually.
5. Count the package. How this works depends on whether the package is sold by unit or by weight - see the two sections below.
6. Click Save. Your count is staged on the audit row, exactly as if you had typed it into Qty On Hand.
7. Repeat for each package you are counting, then complete your adjustments.
Counting Unit (Each) Packages
Every scan of the package's barcode adds 1 to Counted on hand. The scan that opened the window already counts as 1.
You can also type the count in directly, and any later scans will keep adding on top of it.
Counting Weighed (Grams) Packages
For packages sold by weight, scanning only identifies the package - it never changes the count. Enter the weight from your scale by hand. Save stays unavailable until you enter a weight.
Packages Stored in More Than One Location
Audits are done per location, so a package split across two locations appears as two rows and is counted at each one.
Inside the Scan to Count window, a bar shows how the package's total splits across your locations, with a chip naming each one. The location you are counting is marked counting now.
Click another location's chip to switch to counting it. Each location keeps its own count and scan history, so switching never loses your work.
When you save, every location you counted is staged at once. The button will read Save 2 locations when more than one will be written.
If you count more than expected, that location's segment turns amber. This is a heads-up, not a blocker - the count can still be saved and the difference is resolved through the adjustment.
Stores Without Storage Locations
Everything works the same way, without the location wording. You will see Expected on hand in place of a per-location figure, and the package total in place of the location chips.
When a Scan Is Rejected
GrowFlow protects your count from stray scans:
Scanning a barcode that belongs to a different product shows an error naming that product and leaves your count unchanged.
Scanning a barcode that is not part of this audit is refused the same way.
Rejected scans stay in the scan history marked not counted, so you can review what happened. To start a row over, click Clear count in the window, or clear the row's Qty On Hand field before adjusting.
Completing Your Audit
Once your counts are staged, click Adjust X Packages in the top bar, choose an Adjustment Reason, enter your Adjustment Notes, and click Complete Adjustments. Each adjustment is recorded and reported to traceability according to your state's rules.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does scanning change my inventory right away?
No. Scans stage a count on the row. Your inventory only changes once you complete the adjustment, and that change is recorded with a reason.
Why does it say "expected at this location" instead of the package total?
Audits are done per location. That number is what the location should hold, and the bar underneath shows the package's full picture across all of your locations.
Can I scan the product's UPC?
No. The Audit page counts by Package ID only.
What if I count more than expected?
The count can still be saved. The difference is resolved when you complete the adjustment.
