Important! Don't attach any Metrc tags to your plants or inventory until after your account has been migrated. Otherwise, you will need to re-tag them all over again based on which tags were assigned to each during the migration of your data.

Tagging Plants

If you have other folks helping you with this process, it's usually easiest to run an export from your Plants page for each plant room. Depending on how many plants you have in each room and how many people helping you, you could run separate exports by room by strain. Each person can then grab the Metrc tags they'll need for their assigned spreadsheets and start tagging.

  1. On the Plants page in GrowFllow, filter by one room

  2. GrowFlow will default to listing the plants sorted by strain name

  3. Further filter by the strains in that room assigned to one person for tagging

  4. Click the "Export" button on the upper right above the list of plants

  5. Open the file in your favorite spreadsheet app, adjust the column widths for easy reading, and Save the sheet with a unique name

  6. Print the sheet

    1. Metrc plant tag IDs are listed in the second column titled "ID#"

    2. Corresponding pre-migration GrowFlow IDs are listed in the column titled "LegacyId"

  7. For each sheet of plants:

    1. Gather from your Metrc plant tags all the physical tags needed for the Metrc IDs listed in the sheet

    2. The person doing the tagging takes the printed sheet and the tags and attaches the corresponding Metrc plant tag to each plant

Tagging Inventory

If you have other folks helping you with this process, it's usually easiest to run a separate export from your Inventory page to match the way you want to divvy up the job of applying the Metrc package tags (stickers). Each person can then grab the Metrc tags they'll need for their assigned spreadsheets and start applying the stickers.

  1. On the Inventory page in GrowFlow, use the filters by room, strain, and/or product, according to who will be tagging what

  2. GrowFlow will default to listing the filtered inventory sorted by strain name, but you can choose to sort them by any other column or do more sorting once you export the data

  3. Click the "Export" button on the upper right above the list of inventory

  4. Open the file in your favorite spreadsheet app, adjust the column widths for easy reading, and Save the sheet with a unique name

  5. Print the sheet

    1. Metrc package tag IDs are listed in the second column titled "ID"

    2. Corresponding pre-migration GrowFlow IDs are listed in the column titled "LegacyId"

  6. For each sheet of inventory:

    1. Gather (tear off) the package tags needed for the Metrc IDs listed in the sheet

    2. The person doing the tagging takes the printed sheet and the tags and attaches the corresponding tag to each inventory item

Celebrate this milestone when you're done!
