Are you receiving error messages when attempting to edit your labels? Take a look through this article for some quick troubleshooting tips for common errors!

Error: The table width must be greater than zero

This error indicates a text field, barcode, or QR code has a width or height set to zero. All fields on the canvas need to have both dimensions greater than zero. Additionally, even if the table has a dimension greater than zero, depending on the content within the table, it may need to be increased.

Resolution:

1. Select a text field, barcode, or QR code on the canvas

2. In the left-hand panel, scroll down until you see the Dimensions

3. A good indicator is that the Width or Height will be "0" or blank

4. Enter a higher number in the Width or Height field or click on a corner to drag and expand the table

5. Repeat these steps to ensure all text fields, barcodes, or QR codes are resolved

Error: Rendered barcode width is (#) which is larger than the container. Make barcode container wider, or reduce the barcode’s bar size (#)

There are three different instances this error may occur.

Instance A: The dimensions of the barcode are larger than the container itself.

Resolution:

1. Select the barcode image on the canvas to open the barcode settings in the left-hand panel

2. Scroll down until you see the Bar Width field and enter a 1

3. Click Preview to confirm the barcode is now showing

4. Click Save to apply the changes

Instance B: The container is smaller than the barcode.

Resolution:

1. Select the barcode on the canvas

2. Click on a corner of the barcode to drag and resize the container

3. Click Preview to confirm the barcode is now showing

4. Click Save to apply the changes

Instance C. There may be a second or even third barcode on the canvas but is so small it is not visible, or it’s found underneath the main barcode on the canvas.

Resolution:

1. Select the barcode on the canvas

2. Drag the barcode upwards on the canvas to verify there isn’t a duplicate barcode hidden underneath

3. Select any unwanted barcodes one at a time, then click backspace on your keyboard to delete them

4. Click Preview to confirm the barcode is now showing

5. Click Save to apply the changes

Error: Barcode width is narrower or wider than what you want

You may not receive an error message in this instance, but to control the width of your barcode, click on the barcode in the canvas, then enter a number in the Bar Width field until your preview shows your preference. Click Save to apply the changes.

Error: Longer plant tags are not showing the entire editable label canvas or text boxes are being displayed outside of the label canvas

Resolution:

1. Click on the canvas within the V2 Editor and locate the zoom-out icon next to the label template preview. You may have to scroll down the page to locate it.

2. Click the zoom-out icon on the canvas template until the entire label template appears on the screen and the text boxes appear inside the label canvas area.

3. Click the Preview button to ensure the label is showing correctly

4. Click Save to apply the changes

Error: Text in a text block is missing when previewing or trying to print a label

The composure text is often smaller than the text in the actual preview window. You may need to increase the size of your text box even if it appears to fit on the canvas.

Resolution:

1. Select the Text Field on the canvas

2. Click the Dot on the bottom, left corner of the text block, and drag down the canvas to resize

3. Click the Preview button to verify the size is now large enough for the text

4. Repeat these steps until the text box is properly sized

5. Click Save to apply the changes

Error: If you are attempting to print a label and your desired label is not appearing on your drop-down list

There are two different instances this error may occur.

Instance A: If the item you are attempting to print labels for is not associated with the Label Type, it will not show up on the available labels list.

Resolution:

1. Head to the labels page by clicking on Admin > Labels/Templates

2. Locate the label and verify its Label Type is correctly set

3. If not, click the Edit button to change to the correct Label Type

4. Click Save to apply the changes

Instance B: The specific Inventory Type is not associated with that particular item

Resolution:

1. Head over to the Labels screen by clicking on Admin > Labels/Templates

2. Locate the label template in question and verify it is set to the correct Inventory Type

3. If not, click Edit on that template, then click the drop-down list for Inventory Type to locate and select the correct type

4. Click Save to apply the changes

Note: If you choose a specific inventory type, it can’t be set back to Any. You can set the Inventory type back to Any by clicking Copy on the label template and deleting the old one. This will default the new label back to Any.

Error: Red border lines showing up on label preview

When Border Lines is selected in the V2 Editor, red lines will appear surrounding each section of the label. The purpose of this feature is to easily gauge the size of your image and text fields while creating and editing the label to visualize any remaining usable space.

Resolution:

1. Locate Border Lines button in the Label Editor and click to deselect this function

2. Click on the Preview button to confirm the border lines are no longer visible

3. Click Save to to apply the changes
