To keep your staff from accidentally selling to someone who’s underage, it's a good idea to set up the Age Restriction feature.

Setting Up Age Restriction

To enable Age Restriction:

  1. Navigate to the “Settings” page.

  2. Navigate to the “Compliance” section.

  3. Enter the minimum age for recreational customers and medical patients according to your state’s laws.

  4. Click “Save Settings”.

If you'd like GrowFlow to prompt the user to verify the customer’s age at checkout, be sure to enable the ‘Age Verification Before Order’ setting.

Please note: Fake identification can still have scannable barcodes that can trick many systems. Refer to your state’s recommendations for assessing cardholders to ensure users are familiar with recognizing fake identification.

Age Verification for Orders

When an order is started with the “Age Verification Before Order” setting turned on, it will prompt the user to either scan the customer’s ID or manually enter their date of birth. When scanning an ID, please make sure to click inside the “Search” field and then scan the barcode.

Please note: Age Verification does not check the customer’s date of birth against what is entered into their profile as some customers don't provide that information. This feature purely checks that they meet the minimum age requirement that you previously entered in your Compliance settings.
