Closing Your Register

Make sure to close out your register/drawer at the end of every shift to prevent discrepancies.

It’s typically easiest to count your drawer down to the closing amount and anything remaining will be your Total Deposit Amount. Do not factor in Drop amounts as those have already been counted. It is always a good idea to do one final count of drops and ending deposits to make sure everything adds up and matches Cash Sales. Please make sure to stay consistent with the register's Closing and Opening amounts.

To close your register:

1. Click on Sales.

2. Select the register listed under Current Drawer.

3. Select End Drawer from the drop-down menu.

From the End Drawer menu, please review the values to ensure accuracy and enter your Total Deposit Amount. Once complete, click End Drawer to close out the register.

4. Starting Balance - Displays the amount of money the register had when it was opened.

5. Incoming Drops - Displays money that has been added to the register with a Money Drop.

6. Outgoing Drops - Displays money that has been removed from the register with a Money Drop.

7. Credit Repaid - Displays the sum of credit repaid using the partial payments feature (select jurisdictions only).

8. Credit Extended - Displays the sum of credit extended using the partial payments feature (select jurisdictions only).

9. Cash Payments - Cash Payments are the sum of cash payments received. For example, if the sales amount is $23.48 and $30.00 is paid in Cash, the cash payment amount recorded is $30.00.

10. Cash Sales - Displays the sum of the cash sales (with tax).

11. Expected Cash in Drawer - Displays the amount of cash that should be present in the register.

12. Total Deposit Amount - Amount of cash that will be removed and deposited.

13. Amount Left In Drawer - The amount of money you want to be left in the drawer for the next shift.

14. Comments - Add a comment that will help when reviewing your shift reports.

15. Click the End Drawer button when you are ready to close the drawer.

Closing a Drawer for an Employee

You must have Admin permissions or higher to close another user's drawer.

Sometimes an employee may forget to end the drawer before leaving, and now you're unable to use that register — we have a solution! As long as you have Admin permissions or higher, you can close the drawer without your employee present.

To close a register on behalf of an employee:

1. Click on Reports.

2. Select Shifts.

3. Select the register you would like to close. It will not show an ending date or time in the Ended column.

4. In the top right corner of the Shift Details pane, select Close Shift.
