Marketplace: Buyer Account Settings and License Verification

How to add licenses to your Buyer account and verify your license in GrowFlow Marketplace.

Written by Cassidy Austin

This article reviews using Account Settings to manage your Marketplace contact information, add state licenses to your buyer profile, and submit licenses for verification.

Before You Start

This article assumes you have already created a Marketplace buyer login and registered as a Buyer. See: Marketplace: From the Buyer's Side for those steps.

  • To add a license, have the business name or the license number on hand, exactly as it's registered with the state.

  • To verify a license, have a clear photo or PDF of the license ready to upload, and make sure you're actually authorized to manage that license — verification asks you to confirm this.

  • License verification is strictly used to unlock Admin permissions for that license. An unverified license will never block your ability to purchase on its behalf. Because verification is tied directly to the license itself rather than an individual user, any approved status is shared across all buyers on that license's team.

Important: If you are the first user to complete verification, you will automatically become the designated Admin.

Account Settings

1. On the Marketplace home page, hover over the license dropdown in the top-right corner > Account Settings.

2. On the Account Settings page, buyers can update their first and last name, phone number, state, and select licenses to purchase on behalf.

Adding a License

1. To add a license to your Buyer account, click + Add a License.

2. On the Add a License search window, you can search by business name or license number.

Note: Each match shows the business name, license number, license type, and location, along with a license status.

3. If you are the first user to add this license, a modal will prompt you to choose how to proceed:

  • Add Only: Connects the license to your buyer profile so you can start purchasing immediately. The license remains unverified, and no Admin is assigned.

  • Add & Verify Now: Connects the license to your profile and takes you directly to the verification flow. Once completed, the license becomes verified and assigns you as the Admin.

Verifying the License

1. To start verification on an Unverified license, click Verify.

2. On the Verify License window, upload a photo or PDF of the license

3. Check the I'm authorized by this business to submit its license for verification box > Submit for Verification.

Understanding License Statuses

When searching for licenses during the Add a License step, you will encounter several license statuses. Here is what each status means:

  • Available to verify — An active license that isn't verified yet and isn't already on your account. Choose Add Only to attach it and start shopping, or Add & Verify Now to attach it and go straight into verification.

  • Verified team — An active license that already has a verified team. You can't add this one directly. Click Request to Join to notify the license's admins — you're added once an admin approves your request.

  • On your account — This license is already on your profile. It's greyed out and can't be selected again.

  • Expired — The license is expired or revoked in state records and can't be added.

Note: You can only self-add licenses marked Available to verify. If a license is marked Verified team, verification is already managed by an existing admin. To join a Verified team license, click Request to Join to notify its admins; you will be added as a Buyer as soon as an admin approves your request.

What Happens After You Submit

Once you submit, our Support team reviews your document against our records for that license. Depending on the result, your submission is approved automatically, rejected, or sent to our internal team for a closer look, and your license status updates to match. When it clears, the license moves to Verified immediately — no separate confirmation step needed.

What Can Go Wrong

  • Your search doesn't return the license you're looking for. Our license records come directly from state licensing data, so if your license is missing or brand new, contact support and we'll get it added.

  • Your submission was rejected. Open View Status to see the reason, then click Submit Again — most rejections come from a document that's hard to read or a license number that doesn't match state records, both of which you can fix on the next attempt.

  • Your document can't be read at all — for example, it's blank, blurry, or isn't a license. It's automatically rejected so you can fix it right away rather than waiting on a manual review.

  • Verification is taking longer than expected. If our automated review is temporarily unavailable, your submission goes to Under Review instead of being rejected, so you're never penalized for something on our end — but it does mean a short wait for our team to confirm it manually.
