To summarize, we've tried to simplify it for you below, but we recommend you study the full rules here, as it's the LCB that maintains any new rules or changes. GrowFlow will try to help by imposing limits on the sizes of educational and vendor samples, but it's always best for you to educate yourself too.

In general, Samples can be added and auto-created via the same 'add-to-cart' process as normal products. If you forget, just make sure to check the box any time, so that when it's sent to the Store, they know it's a Sample:

The trick is to make sure that the product size is within the limits of the regulations. For example, an Extract for inhalation for a Vendor Sample can be up to 0.5 grams, but if it's for a budtender sample, it can only be 0.25 grams.

Here's a summary for sending samples to Retail stores:

Educational Samples (aka Budtender Samples) 10 units per budtender per calendar month, and a retailer can receive a total of up to 100 units max per calendar month)

Usable Marijuana = 0.5 grams per unit
MJ Mix Packaged = 0.5 grams per unit
MJ Mix Infused = 0.5 grams per unit
Solid or Liquid Edibles = 10 mg THC per unit
Topical = 16 oz per unit

Extract For Inhalation = 0.25 grams per unit

  1. CO2 oil extract

  2. Hydrocarbon Wax concentrate

  3. Kief, rosin, or various forms of hash

Vendor Samples

Usable Marijuana = 8 grams per calendar month (no unit size limit)
Infused Solid or Infused Liquid = 8 units per calendar month (max 10mg THC per unit)

Topical = 8 units per calendar month
Extracts for Inhalation = 2 units per calendar month (0.5 grams per unit)

  1. CO2 oil extract

  2. Hydrocarbon Wax concentrate

  3. Kief, rosin, or various forms of hash

MJ Mix Infused = 2 units per calendar month (0.5 grams per unit)

NOTE: Capsules etc are not mentioned in the rules for Educational Sampling so they're not allowed

Full Rules Here:

Most sample rules are about what retailers can receive from processors, but it's also true that a processor can receive up to 8g of flower from a producer per month.
