Note: In some states, such as New York, all final units sent to retailers must be labeled with a Metrc Retail ID.
QR Code
The Metrc Retail ID is integrated into label templates by assigning the specific field to a QR code element.
This article assumes you understand the basics of setting up label templates. Please see Wholesale: Create Your Own Custom Labels for more information.
Add a QR code to any Inventory or Retail Type label template:
1. Click to select the QR code on the label canvas
2. In the element's properties panel on the left, select MetrcRetailId as the Field(Text) source
3. When all edits have been made to the label template, click Save
4. Once configured, the QR code on the printed label will scan the unique Metrc Retail ID when a label is printed using the Retail ID generation process.
Tip! The location from which you print determines the necessary label type setup:
For labeling during the Order/Packaging process: You must set this up as a Retail type label.
For pre-labeling inventory (printing from the Inventory page): You must set this up as an Inventory type label.
To have the option to print from both locations: Make a copy of the configured label and set one up as a Retail label, and the other as an Inventory type label.
Dynamic Field (Optional)
If you would like to print the URL associated with the Matrc Retail ID/QR Code, the following field has been made available:
Dynamic Text Field: {{MetrcRetailId}}.
This field will populate the unique QR code URL after a Metrc Retail ID has been generated.
Adding this to labels is not required or necessary for the Metrc Retail ID functionality, but it is available if displaying the direct URL text on the label is desired.
