When looking at a product's details in GrowFlow, you might sometimes see a price range (like "$45.00 - $52.50") listed for the Sales Price or Medical Price, instead of just a single price. This article explains why this happens and how to understand the cause.
Why Do Price Ranges Appear?
A price range is shown on the Product Detail page when the final selling price of that product can vary across your different store locations. There are two main reasons for this variation:
Different Tax Settings: Your stores might be in areas with different tax rates, causing the final price (including tax, if applicable based on settings) to vary.
Price Overrides: You may have set specific Price Overrides for this product that apply only to certain stores, adjusting the base price up or down at those locations.
How to See Why There's a Range
To make it clear what's causing the price variation for any specific product, look for the small tooltip icon (often an info 'i' or question mark '?') right next to the displayed price range on the Product Detail view.
Hover your mouse cursor over this icon, and a message will appear explaining the reason for the range:
Scenario 1: Variation due to Taxes Only
Tooltip Message: "Range of prices across stores due to tax settings."
Meaning: The price variation shown is caused only by differences in tax calculations across your stores. No specific Price Overrides are active for this product.
Scenario 2: Variation due to Overrides and Taxes
Tooltip Message: "Range of prices across stores due to price overrides and tax settings."
Meaning: The price variation shown is caused by a combination of differing tax settings and specific Price Overrides being active for this product in at least one of your stores.
What are Price Overrides?
Price Overrides are specific price adjustments you can set for a product on a store-by-store basis.
Key Takeaway
By hovering over the tooltip icon next to any price range on the Product Detail view, you can instantly understand whether the variation is due to standard tax differences across your locations or if specific Price Overrides are also influencing the final prices.
