The Store Type setting lets you control who can see and shop your store in the LIVE Marketplace. Choose from four options to manage access and maximize your sales potential.
Store Types
Open
Everyone in the LIVE Marketplace can see and buy from your store. This is the best option to maximize your reach and make it easy for new customers to find you and quickly place orders.
Important: This is the default setting for new stores. It allows all buyers in the LIVE Marketplace – Retail, Producer, or Processor – to instantly see and buy from your store.
If you want to keep your generic wholesale prices private you should choose Needs Approval or Private instead.
Needs Approval
Buyers have to request access to your store before they can see your products or place orders. This gives you more control over who can shop with you.
Note: You can pay close attention to the License Type column on your Buyer Access page. This helps you accurately identify the buyer's business type (Retailer, Processor, etc.) and ensure they have access to the appropriate store. For example, if you have separate stores for Retailers and Processors, this prevents you from accidentally granting Retailers access to a Processor-specific store.
Private
Only buyers you specifically invite can see and shop your store. This is a good option if you want to offer exclusive access or vendor pricing to certain customers.
Hidden
No one in the marketplace can see your store. This is useful if you're still setting things up or need to temporarily take your store offline.
Select a Store Type Setting
1. Go to Admin > Store Setup > Settings
2. Select a Store Type
3. Click Save
