In this article, we’ll take a look at the steps you'll need to take to complete an incoming or outgoing transfer while connected to the Metrc traceability system. Due to restrictions that Metrc places on its integration, there are separate processes for making these transfers. Please note that only whole packages can be transferred using the transfer wizard. If you need to split a package for distribution, you will first need to perform a conversion to divide it up.

Incoming Transfers

  1. Navigate to Inventory.

  2. Click Transfers.

  3. Click Sync in the top-right corner of the page to sync all active transfers from Metrc.

  4. Once transfers have been synced, click on the transfer you are receiving to view its active packages in the Details pane on the right side of the page.

  5. In the Details pane, click Details in the top-right corner.

  6. On the Details page, assign the packages to products in GrowFlow. Ensure that all packages are assigned to their respective products, that the count matches your real-world stock, and that the cost of goods is filled out.

  7. Once all fields are filled out, click Save and Activate at the bottom of the page.

PLEASE NOTE: Once a transfer has been accepted, and activated in GrowFlow it cannot be modified. Ensure all information is correct before clicking Save and Activate.

Outbound Transfers

Before creating a transfer, ensure that all packages are sitting at the quantities that you would like transferred. Only whole packages can be transferred out of a location. You can split a package using the Conversion tool. Click here to view the conversion workflow.

In Metrc

Since Metrc does not allow third-party integrations to create manifests, you will first need to create the outbound transfer in Metrc. This will allow you to designate transporter information and set your destination. Once that transfer has been created and sent to the appropriate license, continue to the “In GrowFlow” workflow.

In GrowFlow

  1. Navigate to Inventory.

  2. Click Transfers.

  3. Click Sync at the top right of the page. This will sync your packages with Metrc, and place all appropriate packages in active transfers to the "On Hold" status. This will prevent budtenders from selling that stock.

  4. Once the destination facility receives the transfer and accepts the manifest in Metrc, the transfer status will automatically update from “Pending” to “Accepted.” This will update all packages on the transfer in GrowFlow from "On Hold" status to the "Transferred Out" status. The "Transferred Out" status indicates the product has left your facility.
